Last names

Aviry Renae Truhe and I were driving along the other day when I saw a work truck of some sort driving next to us. It was obviously some sort of Ma and Pa family business. The company name on the side said "Doolittle" so naturally my ADD mind got to wandering. I know that last names like Taylor came from the head of the family long ago being a tailor and names like Smith came from being some sort of blacksmith or something. But what exactly did Doolittle do? Aviry in all her wisdom says, "Very little".
